What Your Maintenance Minder Code Actually Means
Acura does not use fixed mileage intervals. Your car calculates what it needs from how it is actually driven and shows a letter, usually with a number or two. Here is how to read it:
Main code A
Replace the engine oil. That is the whole item.
Main code B
Replace the engine oil and filter, plus inspections: brakes, parking brake adjustment, suspension, driveshaft boots, fluid levels, hoses and lines.
- 1 — rotate the tires
- 2 — replace the air cleaner element and dust/pollen filter, inspect the drive belt
- 3 — replace the transmission fluid (and transfer case fluid, if equipped)
- 4 — replace spark plugs and, where fitted, the timing belt and water pump; inspect valve clearance
- 5 — replace the engine coolant
- 6 — replace the rear differential fluid
So A1 is an oil change plus a tire rotation. B12 is oil, filter, the full inspection list, a rotation and the air and cabin filters. Tell us the code when you book and the appointment is priced and scheduled correctly before you arrive.
