Acura SUV & Sedan Lineup Compared: ADX vs RDX vs MDX vs ZDX

Published October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026

Acura ADX, RDX, MDX and ZDX SUVs side by side in Brooklyn, NY, Acura lineup compared

The Acura ADX vs RDX vs MDX decision is mostly a question of size. The 2026 Acura ADX is the subcompact entry SUV from $35,000; the 2026 RDX is the compact two-row SUV with standard SH-AWD from $45,100; the 2026 MDX is the three-row flagship from $51,800. The 2026 Integra is now Acura's only sedan, from $33,400. The all-electric ZDX ended production in 2025 and the TLX sedan after its 2025 model year, so both are now pre-owned choices. Here is how every Acura compares on size, seating, power, MPG or range, and price.

Quick Verdict

Which Acura: The Short Answer

  • Choose the Acura ADX for the easiest Acura to park and own in the city: 190 hp, available AWD, up to 31 mpg highway and the lowest SUV price in the lineup, $35,000.
  • Choose the Acura RDX for more power and standard SH-AWD in a five-seat SUV: 272 hp, 29.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 8.2 inches of ground clearance, from $45,100.
  • Choose the Acura MDX if you need seven seats or towing: a third row, up to 95.0 cubic feet of cargo, 5,000 pounds of towing with SH-AWD and a 355-hp Type S, from $51,800.
  • Consider a pre-owned Acura ZDX if you can charge at home: up to 313 miles of EPA range and up to 499 hp, but no new production.
  • Choose the Acura Integra if you do not need an SUV: 200 hp, 32 mpg combined and a hatch-style trunk from $33,400, or the 320-hp Type S.
  • Bottom line for NYC: the ADX for street parking, the RDX for the best all-weather two-row Acura, the MDX for families who fill a third row.

The 2026 RDX is the final year of the current generation, and Acura has announced updates for the 2027 MDX; we will refresh this page when 2027 pricing is published. ADX vs RDX vs MDX

On size, the three SUVs form a clear ladder. The ADX is 185.8 inches long, exactly the length of the Integra it shares much of its engineering with; the RDX is only 1.6 inches longer at 187.4 inches but rides on a 108.3-inch wheelbase against the ADX's 104.5; the MDX jumps to 198.4 inches, 11 inches more than the RDX. The ADX and RDX both fit the short gaps between driveways in Bay Ridge or Astoria; the MDX wants a full-length spot and a garage that takes a midsize SUV.

Power follows the same ladder. The ADX runs a 190-hp 1.5-liter turbo with a CVT, front-wheel drive standard and AWD for $2,000 more. The RDX steps up to a 272-hp 2.0-liter turbo, a 10-speed automatic and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive on every trim, the torque-vectoring system that helps on a wet Belt Parkway on-ramp. The MDX uses a 290-hp 3.5-liter V6, or a 355-hp turbo V6 in the Type S, and tows 5,000 pounds with SH-AWD.

Space is where the choice usually lands. The ADX holds 24.4 cubic feet behind its rear seats and 55.1 folded; the RDX holds 29.5 behind its rear seats; the MDX holds 18.1 behind its third row, 48.3 behind the second and 95.0 with both folded. Its third row offers 29.1 inches of legroom, fine for children and short trips. If two adults and a dog are the usual load, the RDX is enough; once car seats and grandparents travel together, it is the MDX. ZDX (EV) vs MDX & RDX

The ZDX was Acura's first all-electric SUV, built with General Motors and sold only as a 2024 model. Acura ended production in September 2025 and cancelled the planned 2026 models, but it continues to support owners with parts, service and warranty coverage, so a pre-owned ZDX is a reasonable buy for the right driver. Acura has said the all-electric RSX is its next EV.

On size, the ZDX sits closer to the MDX than the RDX: at 197.7 inches it is less than an inch shorter than the MDX and 10.3 inches longer than the RDX, yet it seats five. Cargo is 29.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats, nearly identical to the RDX's 29.5, and 63.0 with them folded. A single-motor A-Spec makes 358 hp with 313 miles of EPA range; the dual-motor A-Spec makes 490 hp with 304 miles; the Type S makes 499 hp with 278 miles. DC fast charging adds up to 81 miles in about 10 minutes. In New York, the ZDX makes sense if you have a garage or a reliable charger near home; if you park on the street, the gas RDX or MDX is the simpler choice.

Sedans vs SUVs: TLX & Integra vs RDX

With the TLX gone, the Integra is Acura's only car. It is technically a five-door liftback, so its 24.3 cubic feet of cargo space almost matches the ADX's 24.4, and both are 185.8 inches long. The Integra rides lower and handles more sharply, returns 29 mpg city and 37 highway with its 200-hp turbo, and offers the 320-hp Integra Type S with a six-speed manual; the ADX sits higher, offers AWD and loads more easily at the curb.

The TLX ended production after the 2025 model year. It shared the RDX's 272-hp turbo and 10-speed automatic, added a 355-hp Type S and a 13.5-cubic-foot trunk, and remains a strong pre-owned buy. If you are choosing between a TLX and an RDX, the RDX gives you the same engine with 29.5 cubic feet of cargo and standard SH-AWD; if you want a new Acura sedan, the Integra is the answer. See Acura Integra vs TLX: Which Acura Sedan Should You Buy? for the full sedan comparison.

Acura Trims and Price Compared

The Integra is the least expensive new Acura, the ADX the least expensive SUV, and every step up the ladder adds roughly $10,000: the RDX starts $10,100 above the ADX, and the MDX with SH-AWD $8,900 above the RDX. Destination is $1,450 on the ADX and RDX, $1,350 on the MDX and $1,295 on the Integra.

Acura Lineup Compared: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the biggest Acura SUV?

The MDX. At 198.4 inches long with three rows and seven seats, it is the largest Acura on sale, with 18.1 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row, 95.0 with both rear rows folded and up to 5,000 pounds of towing with SH-AWD. The electric ZDX is nearly as long at 197.7 inches but seats five and is no longer built new.

ADX vs RDX vs MDX — which to choose?

Choose the ADX if you want the smallest, least expensive Acura SUV: 185.8 inches long, 190 hp and from $35,000. Choose the RDX for more power and standard SH-AWD in a five-seat SUV: 272 hp and 29.5 cubic feet of cargo from $45,100. Choose the MDX if you need a third row or real towing: seven seats, 290 hp or 355 hp in the Type S, and 5,000 pounds with SH-AWD from $51,800.

Is the ZDX bigger than the RDX?

Yes, on the outside. The ZDX is 197.7 inches long, 10.3 inches longer than the 187.4-inch RDX, and close to the MDX in length. Inside, the difference is small: the ZDX holds 29.7 cubic feet behind its rear seats against 29.5 in the RDX, and both seat five.

What is the difference between the Acura ADX and Integra?

They are the same 185.8 inches long and hold almost the same cargo, 24.4 cubic feet in the ADX and 24.3 in the Integra. The ADX is a higher-riding SUV with available AWD and a 190-hp turbo, from $35,000. The Integra is a lower, sportier liftback sedan with a 200-hp turbo, 32 mpg combined and a 320-hp Type S, from $33,400.

Is the Acura TLX still available?

Not new. Acura ended TLX production after the 2025 model year, leaving the Integra as its only sedan. A pre-owned TLX is still a good buy, with a 272-hp turbo or a 355-hp Type S. If you are cross-shopping a TLX and an RDX, the RDX uses the same 272-hp engine with standard SH-AWD and more than twice the cargo space.

Which Acura models have all-wheel drive?

Every RDX has SH-AWD as standard. The MDX offers SH-AWD and makes it standard from the A-Spec up, including the Type S, and the ADX offers AWD on every trim for $2,000 more than front-wheel drive. The Integra is front-wheel drive only. Among pre-owned models, the dual-motor ZDX and the TLX A-Spec and Type S are all-wheel drive.
